With The Penguins?? You Ask... Here, Says I.

Last night I posted my status in facebook that I was with the penguins once again. This turned out to be a curious statement that garnered questions of what it meant. So, here...
with the penguins, once again
Meet the penguins.

What do they signify? For me, they mean my long hot soaks that keeps me centered from the daily dos. For all parents out there or anyone who have children in their lives, you know how it goes in the tub. There are always little toys or whatnot that floats then sinks down the tub as the water gets drained away. Often, the toys stay there because, really, its much better that they dry up in there than putting them out on the floor or having to buy special hampers to store them. After years of trying different solutions... them staying in the tub is perfect.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the centeredness of the penguins. Usually, they are huddled together in the corner of the tub. Settled there by Mally and I always imagine them squawking their conversations with each other. I even had my questions about them mused out loud and found amusing answers from another. "Maybe they are magically frozen," said he. Which made me look at them and wonder if they actually were. Sometimes, they float like a turtle stuck on its shell and the Gentoo voices its objection for being in such an undignifed position. Leading me to settling them back up in their corner once again. Last night, after seeing them for more than a year, I realised I did not know what kind of penguins they were and decided to try and see if their names were stamped somewhere. Sure enough, right on their cute feathery plastic butts their kinds are spelled out.

"GENTOO" the orange beaked one that likes to talk
"PENGUIN" the blue eyed one which seems to stare right through me
"Emperor" the tiniest one of them all who misses its beak (it was chewed off)
"BLACK FOOTED" the one with black feet who seems to be the most surefooted one of them all.

That was when I took out my sidekick and typed the status. "Cat Cassidy is with the penguins once again." So, when the day gets too much, when I need to catch up on reading my textbooks, when I can read for hours, when I am chilled to the bone, when I need to think things out, and whenever I feel like it... I disappear into this niche of my life and the penguins comes along every time.

Until then and hopefully sooner than later,
with love

love the portrait of the penguins. i know how it is with the kids toys in the tub, but my shared moments are with barbies, and all they ever ask me is, "So, how do you like this outfit?" What am I going to say? "Looks beautiful", of course!

by the way, i didn't get to finish over vp... i had meant (re the captions) for you to post pictures because sometimes when you try to blog, the words are the barriers... pictures rarely are (unless you're a shitty photographer). :-D So, blopicture(s)?? And of course, to add an emphasis, I love your musings.

I love this picture, the penguins are larger than life, therefore taking on personalities of their own
