Californians For ASL

Hey all,

Remember Sacramento and the International Signing Day? There are countless pictures but I'll just stick with these two because I am tired and it is a little overwhelming to pick out the good ones....

And this particular family...

They cross my path often. I don't even know their name but all I know that she is a hearing parent of a Deaf child. They are always in these events, Barnes and Nobles, AGB/DBC rally and at Sacramento. I hope I get the chance to introduce myself to her and tell her how beautiful she is for being wholly involved.

It was a good day with powerful messages that has me still digesting all of these truths. For those who made this possible, thank you for making it happen.

ASL for All. All for ASL.

I see that family too. There's a BN event coming up soon, we should ask her.

Hi. I'm the mom in the picture. My name is Alison Greathouse, and my daughter is Cassia. She has a twin sister named Alexandria. We moved to Milpitas this year to be closer to Fremont and all of the wonderful Deaf events. We are hoping that Cassia will start going to CSD to have a bilingual/ bicultural education. We knew that it was ambitious of hearing parents to decide to raise a Culturally Deaf child, but we have had so much support. We do appreciate it. Thanks!
